HOMOSEXUAL

I hear lots of argument over gay marriage, gay rights, and so on. It's one of those polarizing questions that tends to send people into blind angry rants. So many people feel the need to express their viewpoints on it in the most belligerant of ways. Even writing about it is cliche. All the same, I feel like many Americans - even liberal, pro-gay- ( Read more... )

"GLBTQ people are some of the most persistantly and viciously oppressed groups of men and women in human history". i completely disagree with this statement. there are thousands of other groups that have been oppressed in far worse ways. i also don't think you can say that the oppression of these people has been going on since the dawn of time. in ancient greece or middle age europe (this was not 1,000 years ago), homosexuality was accepted to a much greater extent than it is today. even today in many cultures, it is accepted (i.e. the berdache in native american cultures). i think the reason why GLBTQ people are so oppressed today- in America- is because our society is becoming much more morally uptight. but our society still oppresses many more groups, though it may be hidden behind equal laws. racism is still so prevelant in our country- you just don't see it until you leave your bubble. i don't really know what i'm trying to say. i completely support gay marriage, etc. i just think that oppression towards gays is a much more ( ... )

I'm so tired of feeling bad for people dude.I hate talking with anyone who considers themselves part of a group who is owed something. Why? Because they talk to me like I'm part of the problem. Latino, Gay, Black, Hawaiin, and everyone else who's ever considered me part of the oppression because I'm a heterosexual white male. Feeling guilty for shit that other people do isn't written into my genes so I'm just going to go ahead and not give a fuck. Life's too short to feel like shit about all the awful things in this world. Go play frisbee or have sex with someone. It's better for your health.

that is by far the most despicable thing i have heard in a very very long time. by not caring, you are a huge part of the problem. you are one of the apathetic assholes who will never accomplish any sort of significant social change with that attitude. maybe you would change your mind if your mom or dad was gay. or if you had any fucking clue what it was like to feel that kind of pain and have people just not even care.
way to go.

I was in a bad mood. I can not care for a day if I'd like. And if that's the most despicable thing you've heard in a while, then you're deaf to what's really wrong with the world.
