Hey Guys,
As the subject shows I'm going to talk about my experience at Anime Boston. So, here's the gist of it.
On Wednesday, I receive a call from my friend Aaron saying that he needed some help with his booth in the dealer's room. I totally jump at the chance to go for two reasons:
1. I really wanted to get out of the apartment.
2. I would be going to a place that has what I like while working at the same time.
So, I tell my Mom and she's okay with it. Later that day I go to an art meet-up with Joel. It was pretty cool. I got to meet, rub elbows with, and learn a bunch of stuff from a lot of different artists. It also gave me a big kick in the rear to let me know that I need to desperately get a handle on my style and other things. I learned a lot of stuff. Anyway, I really enjoyed myself.
Once I got home Mom helped me prepare for Anime Boston. I went for simple rather than complicated. So, I packed up a closet-fuku Renn. faire gypsy costume, my gothic lolita dress that I bought in Harajuku, and two sets of normal clothes. Then I packed the other essentials in my nice rather small-ish suitcase. Next day, I woke up at around 5 in the morning to head over to Aaron's. Once there I met Alex, Manny, and my usual people.
We headed for Boston and got there at around 4 in the afternoon. I almost lost my bag when we were setting up the room after check-in but luckily I was able to get it back. (waves to the guys who helped get my bag). After that we headed to the dealer's room and I helped to set up. I thought it was so cool to see how everything is so different once your on the other side of things.
The rest of the weekend was usual business stuff. Helping to grab customers and selling shirts wasn't as nerve racking as I thought it was. During the weekend I even got a compliment from Quincy on my selling. Apparently (during his break) there were these two Japanese looking girls that were trying to grab customer's and I was getting more attraction to the booth than they were for theirs which was totally awesome.
Needless to say it had made my day and I had an extra spring in my step. I saw so many awesome cosplay's that it was just amazing. There were also a lot of Doctor Who cosplay's, too. My favorite one was the #11 doctor who totally looked exactly like the #11 doc. He even had a working sonic screwdriver and was all types of tall.
After everything I really enjoyed myself. It had been a long while that I walk away from a convention feeliing so satisfied. I hope I can do it again. Well, I'll talk to you guys later and I look forward to seeing those who are coming to the meet-up on Saturday.
Much lurv *waves*
