I agree about the agent. Usually people give you a flat no, or don't send back any word at all when it comes to query submissions. At least from what I've heard. No actual experience here. Still, it really does sound like there is interest

i appreciate the financial advice, especially from someone who works at a bank. and yes, that is my intent, to pay off the cash advance first, as soon as i have money again. i'm selling my guitar, so it looks like i could have $300 in my pocket for such purpose soon!
just thought of a question maybe you could answer: when you make a credit card payment, is there any way you can stipulate that it's to pay off the cash advance? do they let you disburse payments like that?
That would be nice, but I'm afraid not. Credit card disclosures always state that cash advances are paid at the very last, and that's the way any policy I know of is going to run.
Sure, our computers have a way to pay on the cash advance only, but we aren't supposed to override the system that way. The option is only there in case there is some weird circumstance that requires a manual correction.
I have heard that the government is trying to put through some credit card regulations that will, among other things, give consumers greater options on how their cash advances and other higher interest balances are paid. So maybe that will change in the future.
