Facebook sucks. There are far too many people on there who don't give a crap about anything except dopplegangers and Farmville. I know you can block all that out, but then I'm left with nothing of substance. There's so much more flexibility with a true blog-style website. I've been coming on LJ more often b/c there are things I can't post about on FB...and I have more to say than just one sentence sometimes!

So...I'm still going to FB b/c pictures are easier to place there and I have a lot more IRL friends there, but I miss my LJ. I also want to document things so that I can give my kids and grandkids things to read about our life.

I completely understand. FB definitely has its purpose. The pictures are much easier to load on there, and since there are so many people using FB, it makes it easy to keep in touch with nearly everyone I know.

I do appreciate that LJ keeps everything simple though.

I've found myself blogging on here more and more. And although no one responds, it helps me cope with life. I think I forgot how good of a thing LJ had been.

Word to that. I think FB and MS complicate things with all the apps and news feeds/live feeds, and once you get the hang of it, they change the whole interface on you. FB and MS do serve their purpose though in some ways, but LJ is something completely different - a creature of its own sort :)
