A Cavalcade of Crap

Ryan was "concerned" about my anxiety level, so Piper and I went to visit my family in Michigan for a couple weeks around Thanksgiving. I tried to tell him that visiting my family is not exactly a recipe for relaxation, but he insisted. It wasn't bad, really, but it was tiring. I even skipped the usual "drive frantically around the state for the ( Read more... )

I wish I could take a vacation and come help you sort and clean. That would actually be relaxing to me.

Also, I find it endlessly neat that we went to the same school and didn't really know each other, but now we are friends. :)

Just a thought -- can you give away or sell some (most?) of the stuff your mom gives you? If you've told her over and over that Piper doesn't need it, and you don't have room for it, I would patiently inform her that anything "extra" she gives you from here on out will be freecycled, donated or sold, and then do it.

I am working on it, though slowly. Piper is not much help - she empties my sorting boxes as soon as I fill them, before I can even get the stuff to the car. Every bag of Goodwill stuff, or pile of baby clothes to give away, or even a tied-shut Hefty bag full of culled stuffed animals quickly ends up strewn all over the house. There's never a time when she's not here - when she is at school I am also out of the house - so it's hard to get anything done, especially since she also makes constant messes in the non-giveaway stuff at the same time. It's like I'm treading water ( ... )

ergh. I'm sorry to hear it and wish I could come down and help you out for a few days :)

as she gets older, definitely involve her in the process as much as you can...

ha, and you should make your mom come down and see how full your house is and make her help you:P (yes I realize that may not be the best idea...)

MATCHING BARN?!!! OMG. D:

I think you could probably just donate a ton of that stuff to charity and Piper wouldn't miss it. *squash* It's so weird to read these posts and have neither a mom not a kidlet. I feel both sad and like I escaped a great headache.
