Something odd just happened to me. I went out for lunch and paid with new debit card. When the waiter brough it back, it wasn't my card. BUT the last name on the card was Gruber. Now Gruber is not a common name, what are the odds that two (as far as I know) unrelated people with an uncommon last name would be eating in the same restaurant at the ( Read more... ) -

I know I've been bitching about work a lot lately, but if you remove work from the equation things have been going pretty well this week. I finally got pots and soil and replanted my three dragon tree sprouts. My parent's were down this past weekend for a whirlwind trip. They came down to Wisconsin on Thursday, on friday my mom had testing as part of a medical study she's been participating in, they came down to Chicago on saturday and went home late on sunday. WHY? Why are they taking my SGA away?
I was fairly upset when "the powers that be" took away my SG-1, but I was able to comfort myself with the idea that I still had Atlantis. But now? There's talk of future projects, but nothing is definite. And that leaves me with nothing much to hold on to right now. -

I've made first contact with the local SCA group. I sent an email to the chatelaine asking for more information on the Midrealm, Province of Tree-Girt-Sea. Haven't heard back yet, but they have weekly "Silver Thimble Guild" (sewing and garb) meetings and monthly meetings for needlework/fiber arts. :) It sounds like fun. Pizza Party
I know I've been complaining about my job lately, but today kinda made up for it. This afternoon one of the executives walked in with pizza and beer for everyone and declared the rest of the day (about an hour) to be a pizza party. It just made my day. -
I feel like bragging
So in preparation for eventually taking the GRE, I've started playing FreeRice during my lunch break to bone up on my vocabulary. Today, on my first day playing my best level was 46. Then when I looked under their FAQs it says "There are 60 levels in all, but it is rare for people to get above level 50." I'm proud of the fact that I came so close ( Read more... ) -

So I just finished watching Continuum and the associated extras. I think they did a great job with it. However, they did mention some deleted scenes that I wish they had left in (or at least included a deleted scenes reel), but you can't get everything. Now, it's another waiting game to hear if the rumors about #3 are true. :) -
