So, the local yarn store had a class on double-pointed needles today.
Knit stuff behind
cut:
I had only tried to knit in the round on these 7-inch aluminum needles. My stitches kept sliding off, between the times when I was stabbing myself in the hands and stomach (yeah...don't ask. I knit as a contact sport.) So, Terry let us try out some short bamboo needles, and helped us cast on, and that helped a lot. Except, I cast on wrong. And I knit backwards. And purl backwards. Apprently, I scoop the yarn when I need to drag it under, and vice versa. So, I practiced that for a while, and later tonight I'll do a swatch the "proper" way. Not entirely sure I'm going to give up my method - it's fast and familiar. I want to see if there's an advantage to the right way beyond... it's right.
Plus, I have 3 knitting projects in media res that I have to finish the way I started (or it would look totally funky, and not in the good way).
