Skiing

E has two weeks off in December for Winter break. This mean I'm also taking the time off. I'm thinking that it might be fun for the two of us to go skiing or tubing or something during that time. I haven't skied since my family left Colorado in 1979, and I haven't paid much attention to skiing in the area. Do folks have any suggestions for ( Read more... )

So I know this doesn't help, but I went tubing up in Kewlowna a couple of years ago and it wasn't too pricey. Too far to go, but...

for skiing, I prefer stevens pass. its not as pretentious as Crystal, and the snow tends to be better than Crystal or Snoqualmie.

Im told that Baker rocks, but the support facilities may be somewhat limited.

Whistler ROCKS (awesome kids ski program and tons to do if you're not skiing) but I dont know that yo ucan get there in 3-4 hrs. used to be a train that you could take and that was FUN :)

J refuses to ski; he's known too many people end up with various injuries. I liked it the last time I did it--30 years ago.

Have you been to White Pass? The News Tribune had a pull-out section on area skiing last week and Mount Baker and White Pass were mentioned as good, not horribly expensive places near the South Sound.

I havent been to white pass for about 30 years, so I wouldnt be a reliable source :). I'm sure its totally different!

personally I'm really looking forward to ski season :)
