The people here look like they really care about you. Listen to them. They know what they are talking about.
Nothing will ever take away those images you have and for that I am truly sorry.
There really was nothing at that point you could have done that would not have put you and possibly Elysia in harm's way.
I know how hard this is for you to accept, but don't regret your decision. She made her choice, and you made the best one you could, given the information you had and the situation you were in.

I am so sorry to hear that this happened--to Portia, to you, and to little Elysia.

This is horrific and tragic and just all-together nightmarish. No wonder little Elysia is wetting off and on. She needs to be taken to counseling post-haste.

I'm so sorry to read about this. It was so stunning/shocking to me that I couldn't even listen to the voice post. I think it would just break me to the core me to hear it.

It;s difficult to understand what you're going through. The way you've explained this, it sounds as though it was something that could have happened, not something that did happen. Very difficult to take in.
