All the hubbub about Ello has made me want to revisit all the social networking sites of my past. It's been ages since I've posted anything here which is kind of sad. I miss this long-form method of expression and keeping in touch. I also miss the way communities used to work where they would put you in contact with people on the other side of the

I miss ppl posting here as well... Sometimes it's much more cathartic to be long winded and just get everything out, which is not something I'd always like to share on Facebook.

I have a set of bookmarks for "check weekly" and those are people's blogs, among other things. It's hard to keep up, on both sides. One would think it is easier to read than it is to post but sometimes neither happens.

I'm with you, though, in liking the long-form better than the sound-bites that are twitter and FB. They're good for a quickie, but sometimes you need more. Not to mention that FB keeps scrambling the timelines; nothing is ever in the same place.
