Yeah, Mark/Cowell is a complex one...I think your analogy with the toys as a kid is a good one. Part of him does...well, maybe not 'love' Mark, but certainly feel some sort of affection for him...I think it was different with Richard though, because of the way he fought back. That was just the 'challenge' of breaking him, although I think, almost, the challenge was just as great with Mark. Interesting. In a slightly sick way...haha, so in the way I like ;)
Haha, honest, there was a reason Howard had the spanner - it was in the box Jason nicked, and then Howard took it out to repair the printing press...erm, honest!!
EWT really has been amazing hasn't she!! I haven't even totted up the total, but it was definitely more than the 100,000 - eeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!

Ooh, Gary and Robbie are free! And Howard had James' spanner! Ha ha, how did that happen?!
I'm really worried about Mark. He really seems to breaking apart now :( Him and Simon - what a complex "relationship" that is.
I'm going away on holiday early Thirsday morning, so I guess I won't be able to read the ending of this fic until I get back. What a torture that will be, but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait *g*

Yeah, Mark's in a bit of a mess - and I'm afraid I've had too much fun making that relationship complex. I'm kind of tempted to write more backstory, and more Mark/Robbie backstory...but I really have to finish this for now, I think ;)
Oh, haha, the spanner thing - there was a reason behind that, honest. It was in the box Jason stole from Cowell, and then Howard took it out to mend the printing press, so it wasn't just coincidence. Honest ;)
Aw, we'll miss you! I was going to post the end of your cabin boy prompt this week too, so maybe both will be waiting when you get back :) Thanks so much for reading :D

Aw, thanks :) So there will be lots of lovely catching up for me to do then :D

Poor Mark, being stuck with Cowell and at the same time having to fear that the crowd will eventually kill him... at the end I really started to get concerned about his mental health, it was excellent the way you portrayed his inner struggle ;) How long can he possible take this anymore?!? I love how there is so many levels in the relationship between Cowell and Mark, it's very interesting...and totally wrong in so many ways ;) Can't blame Howard for being a bit terrified of facing Mark once again after all those years. I'm really soooooo excited for the reunion!
It seems the boys are one step closer to getting home, yay!

Yeah, I've got to admit, it's been far too interesting thinking about mark in this story. As we were chatting about before, the things he's been through cannot just be solved with a hug... There's definitely going to be a massive inner struggle going on before he can face any sort of new life. So, yes, the reunion is going to be interesting... I hope!
As, of course, will be their journey home... ;)
