what can you believe?

Finally finished "American Gods" this morning. It was absolutely brilliant, and I wish I could tell a story as well as Neil Gaiman does. I also finished "The Fellowship of the Ring" (and realized it's only the second time I've read it all the way through on my own). Next up: "The Two Towers" as a train book and "Shatterglass" at home ( Read more... )

I LOVE that speech. Unfortunately it's too long to fit in an AIM profile or use as an Away MEssage, and it's just not as good edited. :(

Haha, great minds think alike! I wanted to use it as my AIM profile too, but it was too long... and you're right, it's just not the same in an abbreviated version.

Yeah! Well, you could also perform a Vagina Monologue, because they're really cool. But I loooooved this speech. it made me want to write one with my own list of beliefs, only I'd probably just end up ripping it off.
you should read Neil Gaiman, he's faaaaantastic.

Oh yeah! I thought of that too when I read it. I was like, "Hey, maybe I should do that for my drama audition."

Then I figured it'd probably either be too long, or too serious to be comedic, or too comedic to be serious.

It's difficult to categorize, really.

Yeah, it really is hard to categorize. It makes you think and it's kind of funny at first and ironic and interesting and just generally Brilliant.

I feel like I should be worshipping the old gods now, but I don't even know where to start.
