Hey, well the thing is, a lot of people are busy late at night on Saturdays, and busy all nights on weekdays... I personally don't care what time it is, I just thought 11 would be the best for the greatest number of people... well I don't know, I never really thought any one would show up.. possibly 10:30? Hope you can come, Cheers, Sydney http://evermind.diaryland.com
Ummm... well, I'll try to email you and figure something out, but I'd like to be present and 10:30 is definitely too late for someone whose parents kick her into bed at 11 every night. ;) I was thinking 8ish. Hmmmm.
"Re. rereading of TTT: the battle of Helm's Deep has just been won. Squee!"
Man, they can never do the Gimli-Legolas orc-count slaying thing justice as in the book, can they? (for one thing, Lesie didn't get to say how happy he was to see Gimli again after he & Gimli were separated)
And AHGH! Faramir! or was that in the RoTK? I can't right remember 'cause I've got the tree-in-one version and all of the books are one to me!
I *love* the Gimli-Legolas dynamic in the book. Not just slashily, I mean. ;) No, really, I love how their friendship develops over the course of the books, and how they stick up for each other and ride the same horse and make a deal about visiting the Glittering Caves and Fangorn together. Awwww!
I have the three-in-one version too, but it's the pretty Alan Lee book so I mostly just look at the pictures and read other copies so I won't spoil his! Faramir was indeed in TTT, though I haven't met him yet. (They're just leaving Isengard after Saruman rejected Gandalf's last attempt to give him another chance.) I can't wait for the extended edition...
