Hulu Plus aka paying twice for TV

Okay, who thought it was a good idea to charge $8 a month for the same crap that already comes with my cable modem? And my phone data plan? It's several days to weeks later, too! And with commercials! Cosmos, for instance, has more commercials than when it originally aired. And you want me to pay for it ( Read more... )

What it seems to be is the same stuff that comes with Comcast On Demand, for the most part; new television series up to two weeks delayed from their air date. Specifically it's a custom client you can play on your TV or Playstation if it is so equipped. HD quality for some of it, but it's not labeled; the Cosmos show, for instance, seemed to be in HD quality (which means they were pulling it off masters and encoding it, which is nice, at least, but...)

...I could just plug my mac in to the TV at that point and play their 'free' client instead of paying $8 for the client on my Playstation.
