Oh. I knew you were right. The first time we see a Dharma Initiative film, they patently say that they are continuing the work of B. F. Skinner.
The show states up front that it's going to accomplish nothing but make you consume more low-quality television than you normally would by giving you random and meaningless rewards.
All television programs are like that. My reason for watching this one all the way through was much like the stories of sadistic parents who make a child smoke an entire box of cigars to teach them a lesson. I'm not sick enough of television series to probably not watch anything again for a few years at least.
