You were close, it's Nicomachean Ethics, but thus far I've only read pieces of Politics

You were close, it's Nicomachean Ethics, but thus far I've only read selections of Politics, as my course was about family values. It would be interesting to get Aristotle's perspective on these issues.

I think that it's amazing a how few people really take a step back and take a good look at themselves. Most just live their lives without knowing, or even really caring why. I find myself slipping into that pattern from time to time, making choices selfishly or for the wrong reasons and just sort of coasting along. In the end I catch myself. I always wonder what I was thinking, or rather if I was just feeling and reacting instead of thinking during that time period.

As for people who end up with the goal of greed or spite, they get caught up in things like making money or they way they look and lose sight of the reason behind them: happiness. They get so caught up that the worry and stress make them unhappy and defeat the ( ... )
