Clarke is no exception to the busy busy December rule. He has meetings to schedule, projects to finish, dissertation updates to turn in, and transportation to arrange. He's especially excited this year and it's clear why. When a guy has a girl he loves as much as Clarke loves AJ, all he wants to do is share the things he loves with her.
Standing at the subway platform, gloved hand in hand he turns and smiles at her. Despite the fact that he knows she is a little overwhelmed by everything she looks happy and that makes Clarke happier than anything else could. He doesn't quite understand it but somehow he's found someone who's happy just because she's with him and in turn he's happy just because he loves her. It's incredible.
He turns and tells her that he loves her. After that, they kiss.
Clarke laughs, handing Abby the Cafe Pow she sent him for. She doesn't often make him her errand boy so when she does he usually complies. Especially when he knows she's missing Gibbs. Abby's music is playing, a CODIS search is running. The green twig seems like a feeble attempt to bring the holiday spirit to the lab.
"That's not mistletoe that's mix of Hawthorn and Bilberry to give the the lab some heart. It's a strong presence." Clarke raised an eyebrow and Abby grinned hopping toward him with her drink in hand. "We can still kiss under it though." Abby grins and wraps his arms around Clarke, giving him a peck on the lips.
"I've been ordered to take you to lunch." Clarke has stepped into Jen's office. He rests his palms flatly on her desk. Jen's glaze remains fixed on her computer screen. She doesn't stop typing.
"People don't get to order me to do things. People don't get to order you to do things either, Clarke. Except for me."
She's smiling but she's still not looking his way. He doesn't move. "We're having a two many cooks in the kitchen situation downstairs. I've been told I need to take a break before I can go back to the lab. I need a break. You need lunch. Let's go together."
"I need a lot of things," Jenny takes off her glasses and stands up. "If lunch is the best way you can think of to kill an hour," she moves around him and locks her office door. "then maybe you ought to just go eat."
He raises an eyebrow. "I'm definitely open to suggestions."
She has a twinkle in her eye that Clarke loves. She moves to him and starts loosening his belt. "Your time management skills need some work."
Merry Christmas! And - just so you know - I have successfully managed to avoid every tiny bit of mistletoe I have seen thusfar. Feel free to, like, do a cheek thing, if you want to. Would hate for the gf to think I'm trying to steal you away. [She laughs]
