JR has stepped out for a few moments, which she knows she is going to regret later. But she needed to answer the phone and check on a few things. She's kept Gibbs out of the room and turned Alex away as well. These are the days she misses smoking.

Jen is rolled away from the door again, which seems to be her usual. She never sees Clarke come in, but she's listening and she knows it's him. He came at the opportune moment. But she doesn't roll over to face him.

At first Clarke was frozen. He didn't want to be patronizing or headache inducing and he didn't want her to tell him just to leave. He honestly thinks about it, for the first time since he's heard this news his mind is not fixed on "must see Jen, must see Jen."

He decides not to say anything. He touches her arm and then strokes her shoulder softly. Gently, in a way he knows won't be painful, the idea being to let her know he's there but without speaking so it's merely comfort not anything judgmental.

Still, she doesn't move, but at least she doesn't flinch, either. She just lays there like a lump. But her words don't match. "Don't touch me," she says. She really wouldn't mind if all of humanity disappeared leaving her alone. If she has to suffer through being alive, couldn't she at least do it by herself?
