Memorial Day Weekend

May 31, 2004 22:07

Welcome to the wild and crazy world of me, Meghan. Jk This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and I traveled up to Dallas with my family.

It was a lot of fun but pretty loud and busy as all functions are in my family. My cousin, Jeff, just bought a house in Dallas and invited the family up to see it and to celebrate his 27th birthday. Most of the family was there but some were missing. One night there were 21 people sleeping there and then 30 people in the house when my cousin had his bar-b-que birthday party with some of his friends. (His house is HUGE, he works for computer company, cisco and so is pretty well endowed. The house is two stories, four bedroom and it's just him that lives there! Plus it is furnished with nice leather and wood pieces of furniture. So there was no problem with finding places for people to sleep, the little that we did.)My sister, mom, and I drove up with my aunt and uncle on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning my cousins, uncles and I went to a nearby lake because my cousin has a boat. (He also has a beamer and a trailblazer) At the lake we went tubing, which is a lot of soo much fun. I used to go tubing when i visited my cousins from New York, but it has been a long time so it was good to do it agian. For anyone that doesn't know what tubing is i'll explain. Basically you are riding on a tube that is being pulled by a string attached to the boat. The tube is like an inner tube but it has a bottom on one side, so you can't just slip in on your head. (you can sit in it though) When we came back to the house, we got ready for dinner because My cousin, Jeff's girlfriend, Kerri, made 3 delicious lasagnas. We all scarffed them down. After dinner we set up a kareoke machine that my aunt and uncle brought. You can hook it up to the tv and have the words show up on the screen. We had sang kareoke at Easter as well, it's so great cause it has a lot of great songs. We were singing until like 1 in the morning. What was so great was that it has two mikes and it scores you on how you sing the song, normally it's doesn't really matter if you have a great voice like my cousin, Ed's girlfriend, Aileen, or Jeff's girlfriend, Kerri, who are both involved in music professionally. It normally gives a high score to someone like my cousin, Jeff, who just belches out a song at the top of his lungs right into the mike. So when Aileen and I did a duet competition against Jeff and Kerri and won with 90 90 on one the song, "You Take my Breath Away" and 90 95 on "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", we were both extremely happy. Sunday morning my uncle John, a priest, performed mass at my cousin's house and blessed his house (all my family on my mom's side is catholic, as well as my family on my dad's side). After mass, the girls, my cousin,Ed, and Uncle John went to the mall and the guys went out to the lake again. We actually didn't really go to the mall because we were going to eat as well ,which ended up being at the Cheesecake Factory(mmmmmm..very good),but by the time we finished eating we had to go back because my cousin's friends were going to be coming over for the bar-b-que. We headed back to San Antonio at 10 in the morning on monday. The weekend was long but very fun and worth all the traveling. I think that should be it for now, since i have pretty much bored most of yall to death.

Also....if all of u didn't know James is the most coolest awesomest person in the wholle wide world...much less the school...hehehe thank u! I adore my public! HA :-D
