Trip to New York

Sep 02, 2004 12:03

My day started out at around 6:15 to the sound of the door bell ringing. At first i just thought it was my imagination or something but then it continued so i got up but my sister had already gotten it and it was my mom who had locked herself out of the house after she went to the gym. So that started off my day and i just got ready and we left around 7 for the airport, my sister dropped us off and then went on her way to work. when going through sucurity, where they run all of your stuff through the machine, they stopped while my bag was in there and called for a bag check...i just figured that it was one of those random spot checks, but then the woman was like "when the rest of your stuff comes through could you please follow me over here while i check out your bag." So she opened my purse and was like my goodness, because i have many different small bags within my purse and she had to open them all and check through them, then she came upon my travel nail grooming kit and was like oh here it is, and took out little scissors that were in them. another guy came over and told me that they were acceptable only i couldn't have them in my carry on, so i could either give them to someone on the other side, put it in my suitcase, or give them up. since i didn't even realize that they were even in there i just figured why mess with all that and told them that they could keep them. So finally we got through all the security and my mom and i were like we need some starbucks so we can make it through this trip...i got a tao chi frappachino which was quite interesting but i think later my stomach somewhat upset and my mom just got a coffee of the day. After going to the restroom and getting to the terminal we got to sit for like 5 minutes and then they started boarding. The plane ride to chica was very nice...it was full so we were able to move up to the emergency exit doors and have plenty of room. I can't say that for the second flight to Rochester, where the plane was totally full and we were in the very last row. I was pretty tired by this point so i tried just resting my eyes for a while. We arrived at Rochester at 4:10 but we just missed my dad becuase my mom and i had to go to the restroom and by the time we got out, then went to the luggage claim....we then waited outside and my dad was inside looking for us, so it was like an hour later by the time we finally connected. we went back to my grandmothers house to relax and get settled. then around 7 we got to the hospice center where they had moved my granmother...but by the time we got there they were giving her a bath and then she was asleep because of the medicince given to her from the move. So we just stayed there with all my family until we had to go pick up my sister from the airport at 12. it was really nice to just be around family and just to see my grandmother, who i haven't seen in like 3 years. Pretty much all of my family on my dad's side is here and it's just really neat to visit and see everyone. By the time we picked up my sister and came back home, got ready for bed it was after one in the morning. SO i was pretty tired.

a littele update on my ankle, i limped all throughout the airports and hospital and even after 2 anti-inflammatory, at the end of the day it was pretty swollen. The funny thing is that i can put pressure on it and it seems like i can walk almost normal but it still get swollen, which is quite differnt from my previous two sprains. I 'm thinking that it's not a sprain and just a twist because when i've sprained it in the past, it has hurt very bad and i couldn't put pressure on it. SO if you could just keep my ankle and my mom's back in your prayers as well as my grandmother i would really appreciate it.

I think that we are going to go to the hospital again, so i'll update again later. I pray everyone is have a great day and a good rest of the week.
