You have probably told him how poorly some of these people have treated you since you started working there. Because of that, he doesn't want to see them or have anything to do with them. I bet he is really confused why you want to introduce him to these people in the first place.
By not wanting to be around them and be cordial, he is siding with you and trying to support you. Chances are, if he did go up to them and be "friendly" it would be painfully obvious.
He is trying to tell you that, in an indirect way. I speak guy, I know these things.
You're too nice. He wanted to go to a concert with the other residents. and he just hates any kind of social situation. This wasn't an admissions thing. It was an all-staff thing at the president's house. I mean, I do understand that he has a test coming up... but he is studying with random breaks to play video games. He could have skipped the video game and gotten as much studying done after the dinner.
I'm forcing my husband to go to the McNeese game Saturday night with a really nice couple I met at church. They have a little boy who's only two months older than Avery, and the mom and I have gotten to be pretty good friends. This is the first thing we're doing with them as a couple, and Keith's whining about it (partly because he's antisocial and partly because he wanted to go watch the LSU game at his buddy's house).
What he doesn't understand is that I NEED "mommy friends" who are in the same situation that I am. So he's not happy about it, but he's going.
You have my sympathies. Just remember that threats work wonders. ;o)
