Ow! Me Poor Head!

OMG! I'm still alive!

Well, kinda...

After dealing with a month-plus of terrible insomnia, I decided to kick caffeine out of my diet last week. Now caffiene has never done much to keep me from sleeping in the past, but I did require it to function. And I don't mean that as hyperbole. I needed it to function ( Read more... )

Yeah, my withdrawals tend to last ~2 days, too. I'm in wean mode right now... trying to cut down from 6/day to 3... then 2, then 1, then none. I like caffeine though. I use it for appetite suppression. I'm mostly weaning so I won't go into withdrawals while I get used to drinking more water (less Aspartame) while I figure out where I'm going to get my caffeine from. (Tried tea last week, but since I couldn't add sugar, and strong is the most caffeinated... ick, didn't last long.)

Good luck!

That part wouldn't be as much of a problem for me. At home, I drank my coffee black. I put some sugar into it at work, but only because the work coffee was so not good. :P And I would often drink unsweetened ice tea instead of soda at resteraunts. Even with sodas, the only reason I drank Coke was that it had more of a bite than other sodas, more bitter.

Not sure what to reccomend for a caffeine source that isn't sweetened and not bitter, since caffeine is itself pretty bitter...

Though I do need to drink more water. One thing I do know that my caffeine habit made rough was dehydration. I am almost always skirting the edge of dehydration and when ever anything would happen to strain that (like donating blood), the results were predictably bad. My wife drinks a lot of caffeine too, but she is smart enough to drink tons of water. I should be so smart... :P

or who remembers the closing night of Jazebel's

No one actually remembers the closing night at JJ's. But if you put everyone who was there together in the same room, we might come up with a few memories, supplemented by photos. ;)

Good job on kicking the caffeine. My ex had a bigtime caffeine addiction until his Dr. told him his heart was having problems. It was ugly. But 10 years later he's still alive and doesn't touch the stuff. Moral of the story: you'll live. heh.

Probably no photos of me, since I spent a fair amount of time passed out next to the gutter outside... Hell most of my memory of that night before I got home and passed out on the bathroom floor were all the sidewalks I was laying on on the way home. :( I remember getting my second drink while inside and being dismayed about how strong it was, and then I remember nothing more of indoors...

Holy mackerel!

My caffeine intake is down a little, I only drink really really good coffee from one particular coffee shop. Even so, I don't think I could quit cold. *brr*
