Autumn Calling

The Summer is done and gone, and blowing away on September breezes.
Aren't we all returned to this place--
Eyes lit with concentration and dark with passing--
To re-light the hearthfires banked, dusty in the Autumn?
Welcome home we ragged travellers, a place new-made
Here again, and again in the recurrence of its people;
The spring re-fed from lost and ( Read more... )

peace comes dropping slow, song of the wandering ava, the kettle on the hob, meanderings of the mind, classes happen, consider the genii locii, dale allan, hearers and hearteners of the work, getty, autumn calling

i... *could* be. i'm full of classes too, but it's a gorgeous day, so a walk (or drive if i steal jb's car) into town could happen. let me know how the "something interesting" works out, since god, biostats sucks the life force out of my body.

Marvelous and brilliant--let me know if it doesn't work out, I can text Ellen and see what she's doing.

I'm hoping for Something Interesting (in the most Winnie-the-Poohish way) and it seems like there's a bit of the neato brewing in the air, if not yet coalesced into form. I'll keep you posted, but I've been thinking about running some events out of the House, so we should have a moot.

There's a second writing professor who breaks out a guitar? God save us all. But I am glad to know your summer passed fruitfully while non-dramatically.

Only because he left the mandolin at home. Trust me, Dale is NOT Storey. Not in the least. In the first place, Prof. Allan can teach the living hell out of folklore. Or Hades, even.
The second is of course he's not a total nutbar.

Ava! My darling! It is good to see you out and about again, and you must share this new and improved latte with me - and I should talk to you about recent studies on my part as well. You should come see the house, too, with Vlad and I and Shelley and his delightful daughter.

i believe you owe me pie. or cookies. or i owe you cookies & you owe me pie. but it'd better not be the reverse. last time i tried to make a pie, i was six & i believe it involved a lot of mud.

Please no mud-pies, it's so difficult to get a properly flaky crust. I start back at Belly Beans on Friday, so there will be proper pie-banditry very soon. Heck, maybe I may even go legit one of these days and make one!
