if it wasn't past midnight, this would be longer and slashier. Anyways, enjoy!
He doesn't die. That's the first thing that Bryce thinks after the explosion, the gunshots, passing out and hitting his head on hard concrete, that he isn't dead.
Which means that-- holy shit, Sarah did it. Sarah managed to send Chuck the Intersect.
Sarah's dead instead of him.
He sends a quick prayer up to whomever might be listening (God, Zeus, the empty air--) and goes to debrief, and then to Burbank hopefully not get punched in the face by his former college roommate

Of course, he sees the sea within the sea itself. It's outside the window of his house, always moving and different water but still, somehow, unchanging in this new world. A revolution, a war, and the sea is still a sea, and somehow he finds his lifeline still casted out into it.
In a mirror he can see a flash of the sea within his own eyes. He knows that many have seen it there too, have fallen into his gaze like a riptide and towed out into the swells of his body, against the swells of his body. His eyes, he knows, holds the sea, because after it all, it is the only thing he knows of himself

You, Me, and the Sea. Finnick/Annie 2/2Katniss' mother stops by, checking on Annie more than anything but fusses over the child as if that's her real reason. He wonders if she'll ever make it back to her first home to fuss over her own child, but it's been years and Katniss, he knows, she knows, everyone knows, is making her own recoveries along with her team that she always seemed to have, the baker and the drunk. There is talk at the Capitol for lifting the Mockingjay's exile soon, saying how long it's been and how transportation is almost completely regulated. He wonders, as he looks out to the sea, if she will visit, if she will come out with him and look out at the sea, and look upon how simple this complicated world really is
