Probably there's a meme for this

You know that thing, where you haven't posted to LJ in forever, and then you start feeling like the next post has to recap at least some fraction of what's happened since you last posted, and the more time that goes by the more daunting such a recap seems?

Yeah, that.

Anyway, hi!

Yay! A post! Doesn't matter what it's about, it's a post! Yay!

(That's one social weirdness i don't seem to suffer from. In fact i may have the opposite problem. More than once i've written up big long recaps, then spent too long editing them. Then decided that they were so old by this point that no one would want to read them anymore.)

Yay!

It's good that we, as a community, have a diverse variety of social weirdness. It allows us to compensate for each others' weaknesses. :)

Yeah, that's part of why I pretty much just use my LJ for the friends list. I used to post as well as read, but the catch-up seemed overwhelming. Or nothing really noteworthy/nothing of note that I could articulate in pithy blog post form would have occurred in the interim.

I end up feeling guilty about not posting and therefore not reading my friends list either. Not very rational, really.

Hi!

Hee.

I think I saw an article on Wired - or maybe Boing-Boing - that LJ was starting to have an uptick in North American posts again... I suspect it coincides with the decline of Failbook.

Me, I'm going to power up Dreamwidth, just in case.

Anyway? Good to see you. = )

I need to go figure out that Dreamwidth thing.

Stupid Facebook. I would give it up, but occasionally it does useful things like notifying me that old friends are in town.

I tried Dreamwidth for a while but I didn't like having two reading lists. And there were other things that were tricky to merge. So I came right back to LJ.
