I was looking at the headlines on Fark today and I noticed that some of the "featured personals" are starting to repeat. I find that highly weird: that someone pretty enough to be chosen to be "featured" could have that kind of exposure, where they'd certainly get like *thousands* of responses, would either ( Read more... )

OMG, I was featured once. I was looking at mediabistro.com for some writing jobs, and I saw my face on there. I was mortified. I guess Spring Street automatically puts each profile in their "potential" pool, cause I sure as hell didn't sign up for that.

What's even worse was that I couldn't even remember my signup name or password, so I couldn't pull my profile. It was seriously months and months old. And the email I had signed up with was nonexistant, so I couldn't ask them for it.

So it's probably still out there, in rotation. creepy.

Wow, so Spring Street made a bundle and it's not like anyone ever read whatever anyone was trying to send you: maybe they choose accounts that haven't been active in months or years on purpose or something?
