I like memes okay.

2. Your Favourite (Video Game) Character

So I just put the word 'Snake' into google, right? Snakes are fairly common animals so I was like: "oh fff there's no way I'm getting a picture result from that."

EXCEPT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG BECAUSE IT'S MOTHERFUCKING SOLID SNAKE.

LOOK AT THIS MOTHERFUCKING SECRET AGENT. HE EVEN LOOKS GOOD AS AN OLD MAN.

SHIT SON, IS THAT A MOLESTACHE? AND IS HE ROCKING IT? HE IS TOTALLY ROCKING IS BECAUSE HE IS MOTHERFUCKING SOLID FUCKING SNAKE HOLY SHIT.

But in all seriousness, for all people make romanticized the inherent badass nature of Solid Fucking Snake, the reason this guy is so beloved by gamers the world over isn't because he headshots Genome soldiers and doesn't afraid of anything; it's because he has a sensitive and delicate soul under his gruff, hyper-capable exterior. And it's not even in some dumb contrived "he tries to hide that shit" way either. Solid Snake is a deep guy. He's tactically brilliant, if somewhat naive in interpersonal relationships. He thinks lots of philosophical stuff and if you're not careful to steer a conversation away from it, he'll tell you all about it. He's the bizarre contradiction of a guy with a gentle heart who doesn't know how to do anything but killing. Solid Snake is a goddamned beautiful tragedy of a man and that fact is just about the only thing the Metal Gear Solid series manages to be un-pretentious about.

I don't necessarily classify Snake as my favourite MGS character when asked (amg Ocelot. <3 A-also Otacon <3) but wow okay. Metal Gear Solid hit the playstation during a formative time in my youth so even though I played Sonic and Mario and everything growing up, Solid Snake somehow became my gaming mascot.

And ffff. MGS4.

Even the title screen destroyed me.

2. What was your very first ship?

TECHNICALLY IT WAS...

- because when I was a kid I always sort of half thought they were a couple, but apparently they weren't. by the way the new Darkwing Duck comic is REALLY REALLY GOOD

But if we're talking real "ship" as in I was a little invested in this despite the fact that they are fictional characters ha ha ha, well then...

Yeah, it's always comic book romance that gets us, isn't it? These two had it all: a brains n' brawn dynamic, childhood friendship, desperate circumstances and a good wartime partnership. I take issue with how their relationship was handled later in the series when everything became kind of soap opera-ey (omg who even gives a shit about all this teenager crap these two fought a freaking war together aggghghghgfhjgj Mina was kind of a Mary Sue gaiz), but when I was a kid this relationship was just about the most romantic thing ever, y'know (and I had mostly stopped reading the comic by then anyways).

(Thank God I didn't grow up to be a furry)
