just cause i want to be clear: none of this is about punishing myself or being hard on myself. this is all about the work, it's about doing good work, doing strong work, and making every project progressively better ( Read more... )

Thanks for also posting this to LJ - FB doesn't make it as easy to archive stuff (and since pretty much all your posts that go beyond a few sentences contain really important wisdom, archiving them to go back to later is important to me). I'll read and (knowing me) be unable to resist commenting later today.

I wasn't inside this, so I don't have much to add. Just want to say these are really smart observations, and would be useful for anyone working on a collaborative creative project to heed.

just read your FB post to this and the comments. Fascinating how many people saw this as you being too hard on yourself. I think you're pretty damn fantastic and I didn't see this as self berating at all. I see it as a deeply loving commitment to your work. I would expect nothing less from you. It's one of the reasons I adore and admire you as much as I do.
