It sounds like a dream!
I can imagine the whole scenario in my mind. lol.
Is it cheesy if I say it's like you're living in a real life anime?
Hehe. (Official: Very Cheesy)

I'm glad you're having fun Sara! I would tell you to buy me something but you've probably got a million people on your list, so you better post pictures or something instead!!

lol, yeah, I can see it as an anime, now that you mention it! :D
You're right... I can't even keep track of everybody I have to buy presents for... I just know I'm gonna come back and someone's going to ask, "so what did you get me?" and I'll go.... oh yeaahhhhh....

But if I happen to see something that just screams UMI!! then it's yours.

I've had squid in at least one form at least once every day since arriving. What would you do here? Just live off rice????

So you would drink sake just because it's japanese, but such exceptions don't extend to Japanese food? :(

I have always been fascinated with Japan. The little peices of it's people and culture that drift through have been the real hook for me in many anime's. Somehow reading about Japan from the perspective of a friend who is there is a thousand times better.

A stranger in a stranger land,
but a friend of mine,
a traveler through time and space,
space moreso than I,

What wonders does she behold?
Wonders I,
What silken lands?
So foreign to mine own,
what firefly lanscapes?
I wish I could behold,

Through castles she doth wonder,
Not stone but wood,
Through olden streets where peddlers do,
a trinket there is sold.

What strange and wonderful sights,
What strange and wonderful days,
Take hold and let not these precious memories slip,
Life here is mediocre.
