Welllll. Dammit, I sit down to start writing something and I even have an opener in mind, but I've totally forgotten it. Oh wait, I remember...
Note to self: Don't shower when the washing machine is on. I like hot showers and all, but I'm not really a fan of scalding myself, nor do I particularly feel great about peeling skin and groin-threatening burns.
Ummm...What I have been up to? Firstly, I went to Devon to spend like...4-5 days with Alice and Seth going not much. An early night was 4am and 1pm was an early time to wake up, cept on the day I had to leave where I had 2 hours of sleep and got up at 7am or something.
Spent most of the time playing Dead Space 2 and listening to them argue at least twice a day, like old people. That aside, we set Dead Space up on the projector and it was pretty awesome. It wasn't in delicious HD and playing the game with people kind of lessens the horror aspect of it, but it was still good fun. Along with the games and random movies, we seemed to spend a lot of time talking about animu stuff. Seth was mainly trying to feed me a diet of Evangelion; perhaps in a vain attempt to dissuade me from my opinion that Rei is a boring waifu to have, who knows. Alice finally gave in and decided to come to Aya. I'm sure my relentless alternating of calling one of them a nigger had nothing to do with it, but some sort of argument later and they were both coming to Aya, despite previously expressing a preference of death over doing so.
Cosplays were also decided. Alice and I are doing the same school-uniform Rei (hers with bandages) and Seth is trying to do a Unit, which will be hilarious. Giuliano is already expressing an immense dislike of my inclination to ruin his waifu, but it's Rei, so I don't give a shit. Ohohohohoho /ojou-sama
After that lazy adventure (which is probably an oxymoron), I had not much sleep and then caught a flight to Scotland; an endeavour that I timed badly, resulting in me having to interrupt my ritual of a burger just before departure. Waaah.
That night, there was some sort of epic party for no reason (the Party For No Reason was in fact my reason for going up in the first place). Whoa, deja vu. Lots of people seemed to be at this party, most I knew, but some I didn't, so it was cool to meet new people. Everything was drunk and then everyone was drunk. I distinctly remember being partway through my first (or probably second) drink of the night and Rachel shouting something about "necking it" and being on her fourth already.
The usual things happened. That strange singing game was brought out and I vaguely remember the tall Andrew being better than Claire at singing Lady Gaga songs, which was a bizarre sight to behold, but then again, stranger things have and did happen. Andy's mother christened me Prince Phillip for no discernible reason and subsequently asked increasingly probing questions as to why I didn't have a girlfriend, a dilemma resolved by indirect nonchalance and her passing out not long after.
The usual three of us went to sleep in the living room that night and we got up at around...I have no idea. Probably midday/1pm. Rachel obsessively cleaned someone else's kitchen and then Arron was in a mood for some reason never established, although I have a feeling it was because Rachel asked to lie down next to me, on the sofa which really only has space for one, but I'm not entirely sure why this type of behaviour would send him into a mood, so I'll just put it down to that irritating Sidekick drink he had. I'd greatly prefer to avoid this sort of awkwardness from him in the furture, but if our relationship carries on where it left off and is indeed related, then some measure of diplomacy will have to be employed.
What followed was a mid-week of casual chillaxing, interspersed with many movies and much sleep. Hang on, I guess movies and sleep IS chillaxing, so really...that was all that happened. Arron left mid-week to make it back to uni and I spent my nights alone in the living room until Saturday, which is another matter entirely.
Another small drinking session burst into action on the Friday evening - at least, I think it was Friday - and was really only small in the number of people that attended. 'Twas just I, the people of the household and then Rachel. The amount of alcohol consumed was vast and the hangovers the next day were extreme, resulting in me missing my plane and having to stay for a few days extra. However, it was hilariously good fun and by far the weirdest night of the week. It was especially strange for me, for reasons I will probably require a private entry for, as I don't want to post it here, really.
Day of recovery, 1am, Rachel invites herself round, semi-undresses, sits on the floor and says "Penny" (Penny is one of the dogs) for a while, before passing out on the mattress during Resident Evil. Yeah, that was as hilarious as it was random. The morning after was another subdued stay-in-bed-awake-for-ages kind of morning. To which I didn't object.
Some stuff happened, mainly chinese food and chippy chips. Chippy chips. Then I left.
Nothing happened. Wednesday night. Went to pub, said I wouldn't drink, drank. Phil came over, which I really wasn't emotionally prepared to deal with, so I handled that badly. Friday night, went to pub, said I wouldn't drink, drank. It ended up being just me and Giuliano for about...like...actually, it was the whole night. We played pool forfuckingever and then got the last train back to mine and stayed up for ages watching stuff and generally taking it easy. It was uneventful, but oddly good fun :S. Brilliant idea to do this THE NIGHT BEFORE WOTA in London. However, I recovered in time and got the train fine.
Most people I knew pulled out of Wota because faggots, but turns out I knew a bunch of people. Lampshade, Matt, Jason, CDevil (or whatever his actual name is) and Tom I knew. Ran into Richard and Yin there, ofc I knew Piloru. The night was slow to start and drinks were fucking expensive - a problem not helped by the fact that the bank fucked up my card transfer and I had no card and hadn't taken enough money out, yet a problem resolved by Jason being a dude enough to lend me cash.
For cosplay I wore my Reisen outfit as it's still the only cosplay I have that I can carry around easily. Lampshade wore a dinosaur kigurumi outfit which was mildly hilarious apart from the fact that people kept trying to lift up my skirt with the tail.
For me, the event was good fun, everyone complimented my outfit, which was unusual. I guess it being Wota means there are a few more people that know what Touhou is. I even got recognised as Reisen by some girl and her...boyfriend? Her brother? I have no idea, but they were cool.
I won a prize as well, it's so rare that I win things. Was just some lame CD thing, but it was fun. It was the venue vs the DJ (Piloru) in a rock/paper/scissors tournament and I stayed in until the end and won. Then I had to go up in front of everyone and accept the glorious trophy. The MC also came onto me, which was awkward.
What else happened...hmmm....A bunch of girls wanted my photo taken with them, one of whom was pretty keen to keep trying my ears on. There were tiny Japanese girls dancing as part of that AKB48 homage thing. A girl ambushed me outside the toilet for like...ages. She has my FB details, but who knows if she was sober enough to do anything with them. I'm getting better at this talking-to-people thing, mainly because I stopped giving a shit. Heh, also, I was changing in the toilets when a bunch of normals came in. One saw I was getting out of a skirt and looked horrified and said "...you on some sort of stag night?" He left shortly after I told him "no". Tbh, I just like wearing skirts.
The night ended with a very streamlined trip back to Lampshade's, by way of Burger King. We were actually in bed by the time we reached the McDonald's on our last WOTA trip. Got a lift all the way back to Banbury thanks to Jason, saving me using shitty third world transportation and ending the weekend rather awesomely. Awesome mcawesome.
I've left a fuckton of stuff out, but I've been writing this on and off for about two hours and now I just don't care. I was going to plan my birthday thing, but I'll try sort that out tomorrow.
