just saying this 'coz of the beatnik things -- same era that came out and he was "cool as James Dean of Jack Kerouac cool" -- pretty much defined the label. I thought you read the book as a child, but may be mistaken.

The coffee comic was something I actually had to learn a bit about at an old job, the rest of the links are pretty cool bits of info. Also I do agree with the 'On The Road' comment. Its a good piece.
