lolzors - an ode to the interweb

oh, t3h int3rweb, where would I be without your delightfully free drama? Wherefore canst thou let me take in your sweet depths, apart from side-splitting irony and speed-aggro'ed hypo-whining? Why must you enrapture me with visions of the spectacles of short-sightedness? Can you hold but one post, just one, divorc'ed from these ( Read more... )

That's nice selective vision, then...
what about...

"******* AND ******* have BOTH done meth. Each more times than I have."

Sounds like... you're saying they did meth! Because that's exactly what you say! Without a conditional modifier!

Also, what I'll finally just spell out bluntly because I find it so hilarious is that:

1) Saying that something said over WoW chat has slandered you "on the internet" is like saying a note scribbled on a copy of the nexus and passed in class has been distributed "in the press." It's more immediately likenable to something said over instant messenger. Would you consider that to be "on the internet?" No, you wouldn't. No, don't fight it, you wouldn't. Think about what the "internet" actually is, and that it is even less serious than real life. Especially this. Oh god, especially livejournal: the game.

2) Livejournal is "on the internet." And you put it there! What you're actually trying to make a point about is automatically and immediately self-defeated! Not that you shouldn't work your other issue ( ... )

OMG! Do you not see the point? It is funny! The internet and its horrible out-of-contextualism, except make contextualism replaced with silliness or sarcasm or make-your-own-appropriate-term. That is why I have illustrated it.

The point is, look. Would we be able to do this so well without the internet?
Since when do I use livejournal seriously? (Never (well almost true... remember that flamewar we (especially you) got into years ago with that silly conservative Star Trek: Enterprise guy? Perfect example))

Do I (can I even) seriously communicate with numbers and acronyms? Everything is ice-cold or decidely flaming and amplified under a time-delayed ASCII lens to make everyone try to sculpt the perfect reply to make their account obviously right. So does this one! Self-refrentialism in action! Things you said that support you are ignored, and anything otherwise twistable and interpretable (especially out of context... those are the best!) are quoted. Except like pointy icicles (hurting, stabbing metaphor), these "verbal" bouts are ( ... )

Hi. I am making my first internet post, in response to recent events. This is Hogan. I do not care to be anonymous. I do not care to be clever. I am a clever bastard, but am not in the mood to be cute, or waste my time developing the tone and semantics that would make my post oh so memorable and repeatable. I am writing because there are certain people who do there best to make other people's lives their business, and can't help but interject their own bullshit into whatever situation allows it. It is disgusting. The blatant lies and shit talk are disgusting. The sleazy, creepy come on's dressed in cute WASPish forgiveability is disgusting. The fat-wallet stinginess is disgusting. Bob, you are disgusting.

Sarah, you rock. This post was very well written and very justified. Bob, you are lucky to have a girlfriend that will stand up for you like that. Hogan, you should be ashamed of yourself - that personal attack against Bob was so incredibly irrelevant and rude.
Everyone else... wtf?
