I'm reading Mitchell M. Waldrop's Complexity, and it's a pretty good read so far. It's about complex adaptive systems, which in layman's terms is kind of like studying the phenomenon when the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. you have a bunch of automata that when given a couple of degrees of freedom to interact with each other, do so in
