Yuletide! Sorta.

Okay, that's it. I'm tired, in pain, and need distraction. Help a fangirl out.

I've been watching Murder Rooms: the Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes, a fairly enjoyable if typical British mystery that essentially fictionalizes mysteries for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the doctor on whom he based Sherlock Holmes. And, well, , just in the pilot movie and the first episode, Doyle has twice fallen in love and twice had it end tragically, while he and Dr. Bell (the Holmes inspiration) are clearly crazy about each other - not necessarily like that, but you see where my mind is going, here.

Now, as I watch, I sit there thinking, "Hey, this could be a cool yuletide suggestion." Thing is, I'm finding myself doing that more and more. Snakes on a Plane? My first comment to the Other Half at the end prompted him to say, "Yuletide?" keiko_kirin introduces several of us to the amazingly slashy The Persuaders? "Yuletide!" It just. Keeps. Happening. The worst, I have to say, are the old potboilers, 'cause you just know those wouldn't fly.

Surely I cannot be alone in this. And I don't so much mean specifically thinking of yuletide (although that's where my mind goes) as kind of immediately going to a fannish place even for sources where you know there's likely to be little fandom, although Yuletide is naturally where my mind goes.

So, what thing, particularly an obscure or at least lesser-known thing (show, comic, movie, whatever) have you seen/read/come across lately that has made you think, "Yuletide!", or the equivalent thereof?

distract lucy, yuletide
