Okay.

I keep seeing trailers for Tron: Legacy and I have a question. Do I have to see the previous movie to understand the new one?

I know that it has been a while since you made this post, but I owanted to answer it still.

The answer is No. You do not need to have seen the original movie. Anything that is important to know they cover in the new movie.
