I sighed and looked out the kitchen window of my apartment as the kettle on the stove boiled. Leaves of red, orange and gold fluttered about outside my window, being carried away by a cool wind. A perfect Autumn day.

I love Autumn, it's by far my favorite season. There's nothing like curling up on the couch in your pajamas with a good book or movie with a cup of hot apple cider.

Normally, I would be strolling about the neighborhood, enjoying the weather. But, I was being lazy and decided to run out to fetch the mail barefoot during a chilly rainstorm. Which had lead to my nose running like a faucet and my throat burning like crazy on my poor boyfriend's birthday, nonetheless.

At first glance know one would guess that Josh is a faithful boyfriend, especially with his track record of girls. I don't care about what Josh did in his past. All that matters to me is our relationship and for the record Joshua Montgomery has never cheated on me. Ever.

I took my mug of hot green tea with fresh lemon and curled up on the couch. On the fold-up wooden table in front of me sat a bowl of homemade chicken soup and wheat crackers.

By the time the front door opened, I had finished two bowls of soup, four cups of hot tea and the crackers I was on my tenth episode of Degrassi. I paused the tv as I heard Josh walk into the living room. A smile instantly appeared on my face.

He leaned down and kissed my forehead, "Hey Dani, how are you feeling ?"

I smiled,"A bit better, your Mom's homemade soup helped a lot."

I ran my hand over the soft and loose brunette curls of the sleeping three year old he was holding.

Josh smiled happily, "Running around the zoo tired her out. Our little Mae also told me in that for her tenth birthday she wants a baby brown bear."

I giggled, "She did?"

He took off her raincoat and shoes before laying her in bed and sitting beside me on the couch.

"Well, before the baby bear it was a baby monkey. Until, I told her that monkeys throw poop."

I smiled and rubbed his back, "Did you ever think your twenty-seventh birthday would be like this?"

He stretched, "Let's see. Well, I thought I'd still be partying it up with a different girl every other night. But, yknow what? Being with the two girls I love the most in the world, spending my birthday at the zoo with my daughter and then coming home and cuddling my poor sick girlfriend. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world."

I pecked his forehead, "I wouldn't either...I love you."

He gave me a crooked grin and poked my nose, "And I love you too, Dani-bear."
