Wow, from watching confurvatives and the lefts on my list that bomb has been coming for a while. Has the nation always been this divisive or is it just since the advent of talk radio?

It's been this way for awhile now. The issues are life and death issues and each side believes the other side to be the wrong way solve those issues.

Take healthcare for example. Quite literally my life is on the line. I tell people that I am simply not going to be completely rational, because it is so personal. Trying to prevent yourself from being disabled is a pretty extreme situation to be forced into.

I'm a forgetful sort.

How many Senate seats do the Democrats have, even after Scott "Curling Iron" Brown's election?

And how many did Newt "Third Time's The Charm" Gingrich have during his vaunted 1994 "revolution"?

I dunno, seems like the answers to those questions could be useful in terms of perspective, maybe.

perspective is vital, but to have a healthy perspective you must first have memory.

The incessant inferno of information from various media have reduced our long term memory from decades to months.

I would bet that most people are in the process of forgetting about how bad the "swine flu epidemic" was going to be or the billions wasted on it.

There is no continuity, only homogenous filth flooding the mind and soul.

No it hasn't always been like this. It's been far, far worse before.
