Testing Ryo's Patience part 02
Ryo heard noises from the bathroom. 6.00am.
"Aarghh.. I wonder if he managed to sleep," Ryo groaned while making his way to the bathroom only to find Shige crouched down in front of the closet, throwing up.
"What's wrong?!" Ryo rushed towards him, massaging his neck.
Shige seemed to be forcing himself to throw up despite the fact that he did not eat much the day before.
"We're going to doctor today."
Shige sat up straight and was about to say something when Ryo cut him, "Don't argue."
Shige nodded.
"Feeling better?" Ryo asked.
Shige nodded again.
"I will call Matsumoto san," Ryo helped Shige to stand up. "Can you shower on your own?"
"Yeah," Shige answered faintly. Ryo gave a peck on his cheek before walking out of the bathroom to make the call. He asked their manager to help them make an appointment with their doctor for Shige and for the both of them to be excused from work that day.
"Done?"
"Un." Shige was brushing his teeth. He continued, "You know what, Ryo~"
"No, I don't and we are going to the doctor. You have to listen to me right now!" Ryo was adamant this time.
"I already call Matsumoto san to make an appointment for you. You can be a bitch but I will still drag you to the doctor," as Ryo made his way to the shower
Shige pouted, realizing that he wouldn't win this time.
On the way to the doctor's, "Why are you so oppose to coming to the doctor anyway?" Ryo asked curiously.
Shige, "I only vomited because I did not eat much yesterday. That's all." Ryo shook his head at Shige's reply.
At the doctor's:
"So how is he, Doc?" Ryo asked Dr Maeda.
"He's fine. Nothing's wrong with him."
"See, I'm fine!" assured Shige.
"Ssshhh... But he doesn't want to eat. He has not been eating properly for the past one week. And this morning he threw up."
Maeda san frowned, "Why don't you want to eat?" she asked Shige curiously.
"I'm not hungry."
"You're not hungry for a week. That's so not normal. Tell her what's wrong," Ryo squeezed his boyfriend's hand.
"Ano~," Shige looked hesitated but Ryo stroked his hand, encouraging him to talk. "I can't stand looking at the food. I can't specify exactly what kind of food. But every time I saw a plate full of food, I lost my appetite. If I forced the food into my mouth, I will feel sick and want to throw up."
"He even can't stand my smell, Doc."
Shige slapped Ryo’s head with his free hand, "Too much information!"
Dr Maeda frowned deeper and studied Shige from head to toe. She suspected something might be the cause but she had to make sure first.
"Okay," she said and picked her pen, "You will need to go for a blood test and urine test. You can wait here while waiting for the results to be processed. It won't take long. For the time being, I shall give you some supplements and medicine to curb your vomiting," Dr Maeda assured them.
"Er..Ano~ Are they bitter?" Shige asked slowly, almost inaudibly.
Ryo and Dr Maeda turned their head, looking at the youngest one.
"No," Dr Maeda answered with a smile.
Ryo was still looking at his lover while trying to hide his laughter.
"Stop staring," Shige slapped Ryo's arm.
"Now I know why you refused to go to the doctor," Ryo chuckled.
"Shut up."
Shige was then brought to laboratory for the blood and urine sample. After that, they waited at waiting room. An hour later, Ryo was hungry and asked if Shige wanted something to eat before walking off to get them some food.
"Nishikido kun."
"Yes?" Ryo was stopped by the approaching nurse. "How is it?"
Shige saw the two and slowly walked towards them. "Here," The assistant handed a sealed envelope to him, "Please go to Dr Maeda's room now. She will explain everything to you."
"Thank you."
The nurse then congratulated them and left. Both Ryo and Shige were puzzled.
"Ryo, I feel like puking now."
"EH? Let's go to the gents then."
"No. I.. Why don't you just go and talk to Dr Maeda?"
Ryo reached for the Shige's hand and squeezed it assuring him. "Hey, I'm here. No matter what, I will be by your side."
Once inside, Ryo handed the mentioned envelope to Dr Maeda.
Upon reading the report, a wide smile broke on her face.
"How is it, Doc?" Ryo asked impatiently.
"Nishikido kun, Kato kun. Congratulations! Soon the both of you will be parents."
"WHAT?!"
"Kato kun is carrying your baby."
"Heeee?!" Still couldn't believe their ears.
"Kato kun is pregnant," Dr Maeda finally said. "And I suppose it's your baby, Nishikido kun."
"I'm going to be a father!!! Oh my.....OH MY GOD! Shige~ we will have a baby!" Ryo could not keep his excitement and embraced Shige in a tight hug.
Ryo insisted on doing the ultrasound there and then. They saw the baby. It was small. About the size of a baked bean and its spine and nervous system had already begun to form. Ryo held Shige's hand tightly and a tear formed in his right eye.
"That's our baby," Ryo's voice was trembling, overwhelmed by happiness. The other could only nod and stared at the screen.
They printed the sonogram and went home after Dr Maeda gave some explanation about pregnancy. She said that since this was a male pregnancy, it would be a little different than normal pregnancy thus, they have to be more careful. She gave them a list of safe food, the do's and don'ts, telling him to avoid coffee, to stop smoking and definitely stop drinking.
On the way to the parking lot, Ryo practically stick himself to Shige. He opened the passenger’s door and helped Shige into car.
"I'm not that weak, you know," Shige complained when the other finally drove his car away from hospital. "I think I want to go to the library. Finals are getting closer."
"Can't you study at home for today? We're getting what we need before we get home. I already cancelled my entire schedule today for you."
Ryo continued in more a loving voice, "For the baby."
Shige smiled at the mention of the word 'baby'.
It was still noon when they reached home.
"I wonder what will mom's reaction be~" Shige took his phone out and dialed his mom's number.
"Mom!"
"No, I'm fine. Really. I have something to tell you."
"Today? No, Ryo cancelled our entire schedule. But it's nothing much anyway."
"Err.. I was sick. No, mom, no don't worry. I'm not that sick. I'm fine. That's what I wanted to tell you about."
"Mom..Yes. He takes very good care of me. Erm..Mom..MOM IM PREGNANT!"
*pause*
"Mom, are you still there?"
"Ouch.." Shige put his phone away from his ear.
"Mom, relax. It is 6 weeks old."
"Of course it is Ryo's!"
"It's not funny, mom."
"I'll stop by tomorrow night. Un, okay."
"Oh please do not flatter him too much. His head will explode."
"Hai. I'm hanging up now. Love you too," Shige closed his flip phone and turned to Ryo, who was smiling wide staring into nothing in particular.
"Stop grinning like an idiot," Shige pinched him lightly.
In a normal situation, Ryo would have snapped back.
"I am an idiot!" His grin got wider. "I didn't realize it sooner that I was going to be a father."
"I have to agree on that. Oh well~ Come on, I’m starving." Shige pulled Ryo to the kitchen to help him unpacked the groceries. They bought cartons of milk, cereals, crackers and some jellies; Dr Maeda said jellies could help in preventing morning sickness.
"What do you want?"
"What do we have?"
"Miso soup from last night."
"I will have that."
"Okay, why don't you go and rest for a while?"
Ryo walked back to living room, bringing a bowl of soup and some sandwiches with him. He found Shige lying on the couch and with his eyes closed. Ryo put down the tray onto the coffee table near the couch and sat by Shige's side.
"Can you believe it?" Shige whispered when he felt Ryo's hand joined his hand, rubbing his stomach. "This is our baby."
"Un, this is our baby." Ryo put his lips on Shige's forehead.
...
"Let's eat," Ryo decided to break the atmosphere because the other had not eaten anything since yesterday. He helped Shige sat up, handing him a bowl of soup. "Do you want me to feed you?"
"No. I want some milk if you don't mind."
"Okay." Ryo walked back into kitchen.
"I need my laptop as well"
"Hai."
"And my school bag."
"Okay." Ryo's voice was heard from the kitchen.
Shige brought the bowl closer to his nose which made him frown at the smell. He put it back down and grabbed a piece of sandwich.
Ryo must have figured out that I may not be able to drink the soup after all huh~
Shige smiled at that thought.
"Here's your milk."
Shige drank it all up,"Thanks but where's my laptop?"
"Coming!" Ryo ran into their room to get Shige's laptop and bag.
Soon Shige was on the couch with the laptop on his blanket-covered lap, wearing glasses and he kept typing continuously, stopped only when he needed to check something in his thick law books. His legs stretched over Ryo's lap who sat on the couch adjacent to his. Ryo massaged Shige's legs while waiting for the pages on his laptop screen to load. With his laptop at the coffee table beside his couch, Ryo was busy searching about male pregnancy.
Time flies just like that.
Shige still did not move from couch but he looked tired. Ryo urged him to stop as it was already dark. Shige went to take a bath and Ryo volunteered to rub Shige's back for him.
Ryo, "I shall go and clean up first, you don't have to wait for me."
Shige nodded.

Shige woke up 2 hours later. He felt restless. Seeing Ryo sleeping peacefully, Shige slowly got up and went into the living room. He sat on the couch and switched on the television. There was hardly anything to watch but he continued to stare at the screen. Slowly but surely he fell into a deep sleep.
Some time later, Ryo woke up because he couldn't feel Shige around. He sat up straight in an instance, and panicked.
"Shige! Where are you?"
He ran to the bathroom to find it empty. He then frantically opened the door and saw that the television was on. Walking closer towards the couch, he found his lover curled up on couch, sleeping peacefully.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Ryo shook Shige's body lightly.
"Come on, Shige, let's sleep in the bedroom."
Shige opened his eyes slowly, "I can't sleep there."
"Why?"
Shige didn't reply, and let out a yawn.
"It's me, isn't it?" Ryo sighed hard and lower his head.
"I'm sorry."
"Come on, you are sleeping inside. I will sleep here," Ryo helped Shige into the room. Then he went into the kitchen, grab a few jellies and a glass of water to be put beside Shige.
"Take this if you feel nausea okay." With that, Ryo grabbed a blanket from drawer and walked out.
NEWS had a last meeting regarding their Russ K commercial that would be filmed in Hawaii. Massu was the first to arrive. Followed by Ryo and Shige who greeted Massu. Ryo was carrying a much bigger bag then he usually did. The pair walked towards the couch. Ryo dumped his bag near them and took out a bottle of lemonade and a box of biscuit, giving it to Shige who began to eat them ceremoniously while leaning on Ryo's shoulders. Seeing Ryo giving butterfly kisses on Shige's forehead while rubbing his shoulders playfully made Massu shifted restlessly on his seat, silently, praying for the others to arrive soon as he was not used to such a public display of affection from Ryo and Shige.
And his prayer was granted right away.
"Ohayou!" Both Tegoshi and Koyama greeted in unison.
"Seems our Nishikido family are in the greatest mood today," Koyama commenting on the obvious.
Massu welcomed both of his friends with extra happiness.
"It's about time."
"Massu, have you eaten yet?" Tegoshi bounced happily beside Massu.
"What did you buy, Tegoshi?" Massu asked and squinted inside the paper bag Tegoshi was holding.
"Massu~"
"What?! I can eat it, right?"
"Yes but you should wait for everyone else!"
"I'm hungry Tegoshi."
"Just let him be, Tegoshi," Koyama patted the youngest of all on his head.
Tegoshi pouted but didn't argue.
Massu hastily opened his. It was natto and rice with mustard on top.
"Uwah!" Massu exclaimed and began to dig in.
Shige who was sitting pretty near Massu scrunched up his nose and suddenly felt sick in the stomach. He covered his mouth as he felt the urge to vomit.
"Shige?" Ryo was shocked. Shige stood up. Ryo knew what that gesture meant and assisted him to the restroom.
Shige threw up once he reached the nearest sink. He didn't take too long though.
"I smell something awful," Shige said while walking back to the dressing room.
Ryo nodded, "I knew it. Wait here."
Ryo walked back to dressing room alone and told everyone to keep their breakfast away.
"Just finish it or put it away. Shige can't stand its smell," Ryo ordered.
"Eh why?" Tegoshi questioned.
"Just do it, Tegonyan."
They hurriedly put it away. Ryo then reached for the air freshener he had brought along with him and sprayed the whole dressing room.
Everyone was just eyeing him curiously.
Ryo then walked out to get Shige.
"Better now?" Ryo asked as they sat on that same couch earlier.
Shige nodded but soon his face scrunched up again. Ryo quickly handed him some jelly.
"Why Shige?" Koyama couldn't contain his curiosity. "Are you sick? You're often throwing up lately."
"I'm.....pregnant."
"HEEEE?!"
They took a minute to let the word "pregnant" sank in before jumping on Shige, congratulating him.
"Ohayou. Eh~ What happened? Why is everyone so hyper?" As usual, the leader of NEWS was the last one to arrive.
"Yamashita kun," Tegoshi squealed, "Shige is pregnant!!" He exclaimed happily.
"EH?!" Yamapi'e eyes bulged as big as marbles. "HEEEE?!"
"HEEE?!" Yamapi literally screamed and approached the rest.
Ryo nodded, grinning proudly and tightened his hold around Shige. Yamapi gave the pair a huge bear hug, almost crushing them.
"PI!!" Ryo yelled. "Watch out! The baby~" He smacked Yamapi on the head.
"Oowww... Sorry Ryo chan. I'm just too happy!"
Yamapi released his hug.
While everyone was still busy talking and asking Shige his condition, Yamapi suddenly voiced out, "I shall be his first Godfather!!"
"His?! He who?" Tegoshi asked. "The baby is a boy?! You already know the gender?"
Massu just watched them curiously.
"Why should you be his first Godfather?" Koyama retorted.
"This baby," Yamapi said proudly and tried to pat Shige's belly but in vain because Ryo quickly swatted his hand away, "Is a boy. And yes, of course, I shall be the Godfather. Right, Ryo chan?!"
"I should be their first Godfather." Koyama butt in. "Because I am older."
"The baby could be a girl, Yamashita kun. How can you be so sure?" Tegoshi affirmed.
"If she is a girl, her name should be Hisako." Massu suddenly spoke in a dreamy voice with his left hand under his chin.
"Why Hisako?" Tegoshi shifted his attention to Massu. "And I could be the Godfather also right?" He turned to Koyama.
"This has nothing to do with who is older or not, Koyama. I'm Ryo chan's best friend."
"And I am Shige's best friend!" Koyama exclaimed. "Why should her name be Hisako anyway?" Turning to Massu.
"Hisako is cute," Massu explained. "Taka-Hisa-ko. That is where I got the name from," Massu grinned widely, proud of his name invention.
"Massu~," Tegoshi whined, "That's not fair. Yuya is better. We can use it despite the gender." Tegoshi turned to Shige, "Shige, I can also be the Godfather can't I?"
"Keiko is cuter. We'll use Keiko," Koyama intervened.
"What's with those girls’ names?! It is a boy, I’m telling you. He would be named Tomohisa."
"We are not even sure of the gender. And that's why if we use Yuya, it can be used for a boy or a girl," cried Tegoshi.
"I told you it's a boy."
"I refuse to believe you!...But what if they have twins? Oh wouldn't that be wonderful!" Tegoshi exclaimed.
The rest of the NEWS members went on to decide on the twins names, completely forgetting that Ryo and Shige were still sitting there.
"Now I doubt I should tell the eito members," Ryo blurted. Looking at NEWS, he shook his head and buried his face in Shige's neck.
"Uh huh. I do not even want to be in that room when you tell eito this news," Shige replied. His eyes didn't leave the crowd in front of him though and smiled.
"Ryo, tell them by phone."
Ryo agreed.

Shige brought the bowl closer to his nose which made him frown at the smell. He put it back down and grabbed a piece of sandwich.
Ryo must have figured out that I may not be able to drink the soup after all huh~
Shige smiled at that thought.
"Here's your milk."
Shige drank it all up,"Thanks but where's my laptop?"
"Coming!" Ryo ran into their room to get Shige's laptop and bag.
Soon Shige was on the couch with the laptop on his blanket-covered lap, wearing glasses and he kept typing continuously, stopped only when he needed to check something in his thick law books. His legs stretched over Ryo's lap who sat on the couch adjacent to his. Ryo massaged Shige's legs while waiting for the pages on his laptop screen to load. With his laptop at the coffee table beside his couch, Ryo was busy searching about male pregnancy.
Time flies just like that.
Shige still did not move from couch but he looked tired. Ryo urged him to stop as it was already dark. Shige went to take a bath and Ryo volunteered to rub Shige's back for him.
Ryo, "I shall go and clean up first, you don't have to wait for me."
Shige nodded.

Shige woke up 2 hours later. He felt restless. Seeing Ryo sleeping peacefully, Shige slowly got up and went into the living room. He sat on the couch and switched on the television. There was hardly anything to watch but he continued to stare at the screen. Slowly but surely he fell into a deep sleep.
Some time later, Ryo woke up because he couldn't feel Shige around. He sat up straight in an instance, and panicked.
"Shige! Where are you?"
He ran to the bathroom to find it empty. He then frantically opened the door and saw that the television was on. Walking closer towards the couch, he found his lover curled up on couch, sleeping peacefully.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Ryo shook Shige's body lightly.
"Come on, Shige, let's sleep in the bedroom."
Shige opened his eyes slowly, "I can't sleep there."
"Why?"
Shige didn't reply, and let out a yawn.
"It's me, isn't it?" Ryo sighed hard and lower his head.
"I'm sorry."
"Come on, you are sleeping inside. I will sleep here," Ryo helped Shige into the room. Then he went into the kitchen, grab a few jellies and a glass of water to be put beside Shige.
"Take this if you feel nausea okay." With that, Ryo grabbed a blanket from drawer and walked out.
NEWS had a last meeting regarding their Russ K commercial that would be filmed in Hawaii. Massu was the first to arrive. Followed by Ryo and Shige who greeted Massu. Ryo was carrying a much bigger bag then he usually did. The pair walked towards the couch. Ryo dumped his bag near them and took out a bottle of lemonade and a box of biscuit, giving it to Shige who began to eat them ceremoniously while leaning on Ryo's shoulders. Seeing Ryo giving butterfly kisses on Shige's forehead while rubbing his shoulders playfully made Massu shifted restlessly on his seat, silently, praying for the others to arrive soon as he was not used to such a public display of affection from Ryo and Shige.
And his prayer was granted right away.
"Ohayou!" Both Tegoshi and Koyama greeted in unison.
"Seems our Nishikido family are in the greatest mood today," Koyama commenting on the obvious.
Massu welcomed both of his friends with extra happiness.
"It's about time."
"Massu, have you eaten yet?" Tegoshi bounced happily beside Massu.
"What did you buy, Tegoshi?" Massu asked and squinted inside the paper bag Tegoshi was holding.
"Massu~"
"What?! I can eat it, right?"
"Yes but you should wait for everyone else!"
"I'm hungry Tegoshi."
"Just let him be, Tegoshi," Koyama patted the youngest of all on his head.
Tegoshi pouted but didn't argue.
Massu hastily opened his. It was natto and rice with mustard on top.
"Uwah!" Massu exclaimed and began to dig in.
Shige who was sitting pretty near Massu scrunched up his nose and suddenly felt sick in the stomach. He covered his mouth as he felt the urge to vomit.
"Shige?" Ryo was shocked. Shige stood up. Ryo knew what that gesture meant and assisted him to the restroom.
Shige threw up once he reached the nearest sink. He didn't take too long though.
"I smell something awful," Shige said while walking back to the dressing room.
Ryo nodded, "I knew it. Wait here."
Ryo walked back to dressing room alone and told everyone to keep their breakfast away.
"Just finish it or put it away. Shige can't stand its smell," Ryo ordered.
"Eh why?" Tegoshi questioned.
"Just do it, Tegonyan."
They hurriedly put it away. Ryo then reached for the air freshener he had brought along with him and sprayed the whole dressing room.
Everyone was just eyeing him curiously.
Ryo then walked out to get Shige.
"Better now?" Ryo asked as they sat on that same couch earlier.
Shige nodded but soon his face scrunched up again. Ryo quickly handed him some jelly.
"Why Shige?" Koyama couldn't contain his curiosity. "Are you sick? You're often throwing up lately."
"I'm.....pregnant."
"HEEEE?!"
They took a minute to let the word "pregnant" sank in before jumping on Shige, congratulating him.
"Ohayou. Eh~ What happened? Why is everyone so hyper?" As usual, the leader of NEWS was the last one to arrive.
"Yamashita kun," Tegoshi squealed, "Shige is pregnant!!" He exclaimed happily.
"EH?!" Yamapi'e eyes bulged as big as marbles. "HEEEE?!"
"HEEE?!" Yamapi literally screamed and approached the rest.
Ryo nodded, grinning proudly and tightened his hold around Shige. Yamapi gave the pair a huge bear hug, almost crushing them.
"PI!!" Ryo yelled. "Watch out! The baby~" He smacked Yamapi on the head.
"Oowww... Sorry Ryo chan. I'm just too happy!"
Yamapi released his hug.
While everyone was still busy talking and asking Shige his condition, Yamapi suddenly voiced out, "I shall be his first Godfather!!"
"His?! He who?" Tegoshi asked. "The baby is a boy?! You already know the gender?"
Massu just watched them curiously.
"Why should you be his first Godfather?" Koyama retorted.
"This baby," Yamapi said proudly and tried to pat Shige's belly but in vain because Ryo quickly swatted his hand away, "Is a boy. And yes, of course, I shall be the Godfather. Right, Ryo chan?!"
"I should be their first Godfather." Koyama butt in. "Because I am older."
"The baby could be a girl, Yamashita kun. How can you be so sure?" Tegoshi affirmed.
"If she is a girl, her name should be Hisako." Massu suddenly spoke in a dreamy voice with his left hand under his chin.
"Why Hisako?" Tegoshi shifted his attention to Massu. "And I could be the Godfather also right?" He turned to Koyama.
"This has nothing to do with who is older or not, Koyama. I'm Ryo chan's best friend."
"And I am Shige's best friend!" Koyama exclaimed. "Why should her name be Hisako anyway?" Turning to Massu.
"Hisako is cute," Massu explained. "Taka-Hisa-ko. That is where I got the name from," Massu grinned widely, proud of his name invention.
"Massu~," Tegoshi whined, "That's not fair. Yuya is better. We can use it despite the gender." Tegoshi turned to Shige, "Shige, I can also be the Godfather can't I?"
"Keiko is cuter. We'll use Keiko," Koyama intervened.
"What's with those girls’ names?! It is a boy, I’m telling you. He would be named Tomohisa."
"We are not even sure of the gender. And that's why if we use Yuya, it can be used for a boy or a girl," cried Tegoshi.
"I told you it's a boy."
"I refuse to believe you!...But what if they have twins? Oh wouldn't that be wonderful!" Tegoshi exclaimed.
The rest of the NEWS members went on to decide on the twins names, completely forgetting that Ryo and Shige were still sitting there.
"Now I doubt I should tell the eito members," Ryo blurted. Looking at NEWS, he shook his head and buried his face in Shige's neck.
"Uh huh. I do not even want to be in that room when you tell eito this news," Shige replied. His eyes didn't leave the crowd in front of him though and smiled.
"Ryo, tell them by phone."
Ryo agreed.
