It was inevitable. You had always known it was there, that one day it’ll happen. Right from the moment he stepped into that room, you felt that slight twitching inside your chest, and you made yourself believe it was nothing but nervousness.
He has that beautiful smile - “Mine’s a killer though,” you make an excuse when Jonghyun notices your lingering stares, and you try your best to ignore the instances that tell you something is definitely wrong with that smile. It’s one bit too much for your heart to handle.
Instead you fight the urge to smile back when he glances, the urge to laugh when he says something, the urge to stay and wait when he says he needs to practice some more; instead you walk away and smile secretly at a blank wall, imagining his face because the real one does too much, instead you laugh alone when everyone has already gotten over it, because somehow you can’t forget anything he says, instead you stay awake lying on your bunk, wondering if he’s doing fine practicing, and fall asleep only when you see him sneak into the bedroom.
It was inevitable. And like anyone else, you are just afraid to admit it’s been there all along.
