If this is your first time out and doing this- not having a sampler is okay. Advice I got from other folk-y musicians when I first started out- do your act a few times, and get it polished and get your 'sound' locked down. If you put out a raw sampler before doing this- people may not buy a CD later or ask for more. When your sound is what people want to hear more of, they'll start asking if you have a CD. :) Voila! Fans!

Thanks for the advice. The more I gave your idea some thought, the more it makes sense. Despite wanting to have something people could take home, I would rather create a CD that I can feel good about. I haven't been thinking at all beyond this concert.
