Dear Bertha,
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday. What kind of things are you doing? Anything really fun? Well, I am over at my parent;s house right now, making hot cocoa for all the kids once they come in. I know, really boring. So to kick it up a little, I put tons of cinnamon in my Mum's cup. Hehe!! My dad is busy shoveling snow, and I will ( Read more... )

Kaelyn,

I'm at Benjy's house right now. He's another Hufflepuff 7th year. That sounds brilliant! Hot cocoa is the bestest. It doesn't sound boring at all, actually. What are your plans for the Holidays?

That sounds really cool!! Anything with my parents is usually boring. Well, I think I will stay home a lot, for Channukah. During the day I might hang around with my friends or something like that. Then after all the family stuff I will write letters. My mom keeps talking about a "surprise" it's kind of weird. So I will probably be having some weird surprise soon. I wonder...

Kaelyn,

I'm sure your parents are bundles of fun compared to my parents. Stay home? For the whole break? You have to be kidding me! OOH SURPRISES!! I LOVE SURPRISES!!

Bertha,

I am sooo sure that your parents are better. But maybe, unless one of my friends gets in touch with me or something. I may go to the amusement park on a sunny day, maybe go shopping. I don't really know, I don't have any plans. I LOVE SURPRISES TOO!! That's why I am kind of excited about it, even though it is my mum.

Kaelyn,

My holiday is rather nice, so far. I've been flat-hunting, so I haven't had much of a chance to get shoved at girls, but I'm sure my mum will find time. I am very assuredly not excited.

Yeah, that Charms book was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for letting me have it!

Channukah? Are you Jewish? How terribly interesting! I wouldn't know much about kids, personally, as I'm an only child, but I imagine they would be fun to have around.

Lionel,

Yes, I am in fact Jewish. It's pretty interesting. Don't you have any relatives younger than you? I am an only child too, but all my mum's siblings had loads of kids, as did my father's. What's flat hunting? Is it fun? I hope you do a good job at fending them off!! Why don't you just tell your mum that you aren't interested in any of them? It might stop her. I really don't know though, because my family isn't very rich, so I don't have to produce an heir or whatever if I don't want to.

Kaelyn,

Jewish! That's awesome! I've never been Jewish, myself. Perhaps one day I should try it.

No, no younger relatives. I mean, I've got Cassie (Avery? Do you know her?), but she's my age and has always been around to call me a girl and put corn syrup in my hair. Ah, childhood.

Flat hunting! You know, looking for an apartment? It's not especially fun, no, but I imagine having my own place to live will be.

Not interested? My mum doesn't particularly care about that. She's lovely, really, but not entirely understanding about things like that. She'd just end up trying harder!

I never went flat hunting, so I wouldn't know. My house has been in the family forever, just because my mother is deathly afraid of realtors. You might try it, but if you decide to not be Jewish anymore, they hold a funeral for you, you are dead to everyone. It's pretty sad. I forget what it is called. I know of Cassie, but I haven't met her in person yet. Bertha pretty much tells me about everyone!! That is pretty sad, about your mum. My mum doesn't care who I marry, or what their family is like.
