The day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday. A very black day, in the mind of Dr. Gregory House. Without a case to work, he was assigned to an eight hour day in the clinic, with an over load of patients, and a distinct lack of exam rooms to hide out in. No amount of whining, complaining, or limping would get him out of his duty.
“It’s not that bad,” Wilson suggested as he handed off a Styrofoam cup of coffee.
House took the coffee with a glare. “These people are idiots. Getting up at 4am to go to Kohls. How sadistic is that? Kohls will still be there at 4pm.”
“Ah, but the incredible, once a year sales will not.” Wilson reached out to flick a dust mite off House’s shirt.
House made an obscene gesture with his cane, and snatched the patient chart out of the plastic holder by the door. “Crushed hand. Fun. I bet she got trampled trying to get a thermal underwear set at Kohls.” He pushed the door open before Wilson could respond.
Wilson sighed, and moved down to the next exam room to see what Black Friday injury awaited his attention.
