He liked to sleep in on Saturday mornings. As department head, he generally had his weekends off, unless an emergency came up. Or a critical patient.

For the most part, Friday nights were spent eating pizza or Chinese, drinking beer, and mocking cheesy porn films. He didn't really enjoy the videos as much as he let on, mostly it was habit. Tradition. Expected.

And by the time he stumbled back to his bed sometime after midnight and usually closer to three am, he just wanted to sleep for a week. Or at least a good solid eight to ten hours.

He'd put his cell on vibrate, and turned the ringer off the land line phone. His pager had hummed and fallen off the bedside table twice already. And then the pounding started. The rap of metal on wood, specifically the handle of a cane, on his hotel door.

He sighed, and rolled into a sitting position. He scrubbed at his face to wake himself up. In boxers and a T, he stumbled to the door. House sauntered in, dragging a laundry bag behind him. "It's Saturday."

"I know." Also known as Laundry Day. The day House brought his laundry over to be sent out with Wilson's, via the hotel laundry service.

"You should be up." House poked at Wilson's middle with his cane. "It's a brand new day."

Wilson sighed. "Someone kept me up half the night. Do you know how hard it is to go to sleep with that bow-chicka-bow-bow crap stuck in your head?"

House balked. "You listen to the music?" He pffft'd with a roll of his eyes.

Another sigh. "What do you want, House?"

"Breakfast. Downstairs. On your tab." House twirled his cane, baton style.

"And after that?" Wilson pressed a hand to his eyes, and followed through to rub the back of his neck. He wasn't really sure he wanted to know the answer.

Blue eyes flashed with mischief. "Kohls is still having a blow out sale of the year. What are you waiting for? Go get dressed, Chief."

"I'm driving."

"Yeah, yeah. Just get a move on. If they're out of thermal underwear in my size I'm gonna be pissed."

Wilson started toward the dresser. "What is it with you and the thermal underwear?"

"It's cold outside!" House whined. He pushed the curtain away form the window with his cane and faked a shiver.
