I thought this part was particularly on point (in regards to the show, anyway):

It turns out that the Borgia clan, notorious around the world for fully five centuries now, was actually not only not more awful than the typical powerful family of its time but arguably a good deal less so.

Yeah, I still miss this show and the community a lot as well.

That article was a good read and it kinda pointed out something we already noticed in the series : the Borgias were really no worse than their enemies. Back in those days, you had to be ruthless and manipulative if you wanted to remain in power. It's also interesting to see how history can be distorted 'til people take it as a fact. Another famous example of that is the story of the 'Blood Countess' Elizabeth Báthory.

I miss you all too! *hug* And ugh there is a full box set out now?! Oh well, buying the seasons individually gives me more pretty boxes. Although when are they going to release s3 in the US?! It's always so frustrating how they don't let you know for ages and then it's often long after Christmas because they don't want me to be able to put it on my list, or hate sales, or something. >:( Hawk scene better be a deleted scene on there...
