Today is one of those beautiful Canadian winter days. I normally hate winter which is funny considering I live somewhere that is a deep-freeze for four months of the year but today was simply spectacular. I know what you mean about the days post-frost. I used to live west of Brisbane on a plateau known here as the "Darling Downs", named after the man who found a path through the ranges. Winters there were always sub-zero after sundown and while we never experienced snow (not that I feel deprived by that) the days following a frost were always sparklingly bright and totally still. The grass always crunched underfoot. I hate winter as a rule, but those memories will stay with me.
