Well, that didn't take long. Except for the part where I would have posted hours ago, if not crazy LJ downtime.

Although I liked the "19 Years Later" epilogue, I was disappointed that Rowling did not tell us about what happened in the days, weeks, or even moths immediately following the Final Battle. Your story is the sort of Epilogue that I was expecting (well, the sort I was expecting before all of the spoilers flooded the internet, anyway). Rowling's epilogue left so many questions unanswered. You've filled in one of the the gaps; Harry's need for closure with Snape.

I don't know if I agree that "no one" would deny Harry's insistence that every single person who died in the battle be buried at the lake. Wouldn't many of the families want to take their dead home? I can't imagine that none of them would object.

Still, I very much enjoyed this story, as I do all of your stories. :)

Thanks so much. I admit, that same line gave me pause, but I figured that in the immediate aftermath of the battle, no matter what people's opinions were, nobody was going to deny Harry anything he wanted and he took advantage of that. :)

Well, I suppose if you imagine that everyone would still be in shock immediately following the battle, then yes, I don't think that anyone would have the clarity of mind to deny him his mass burial. I would still think, though, that once the dust began to settle and people started picking themselves up, emotionally, that some would want their loved ones remains back home with them.

It's a quibbling point, though, given how well the story works as a whole. So just ignore my obsessing over it. :P

Love this, to pieces.

And I have to say I wondered at Harry just leaving the Stone out in the Forest - where no one could ever find it again, HA. Hasn't he read Tolkien?

Ahahah---yeah, you're so not wrong. JKR has since said in chat that the stone was buried under a Centary stampede, but it's not like Harry could have predicted that, is it?

And thank you. :)
