Oh. Oh, my. Oh, how I adore this kind of AU, where the differences go all the way back. This was rich and lovely and, god, how easy is it for us to cast Sirius in an abusing role in our explorations of this 'verse. (Hey, I've done it too.) The last exchange--awesome.

Sirius turning into Uncle Badtouch is sadly, sadly plausible, yes. He loves them SO MUCH! And he's been SO LONELY. Azkaban ERODED HIS SENSE OF PERSONAL BOUNDARIES. Snape is just waiting for Sirius to GIVE HIM A REASON.
