The Housekeeper and the Professor, by Yoko Ogawa! It's a really beautiful book, I think, quite simply written but with so many stunning images and soul-soaring ideas. I found it inspiring. Let me know what you think of Norwegian Wood. I haven't actually read it yet, but I've read a collection of his short stories, and, aside from the horrifically gory ones, they were really good.

Thank you!

I've only read about forty pages so far, but I'm already enjoying it. I really like his way of writing :)

E.M. Forster - A Passage to India

I don't know if you're into that kind of thing... I found it very boring the first time I tried to read it a few years ago, and I couldn't make heads or tails out of it. But now that I read it again (this summer) I suddenly realised that the characters are illogical just like real people, and I fell in love with them. Oh, Aziz! And Mrs Moore. ♥

And the imagery is just so beautiful in places.
