Because I Have A Choice

Sometimes, we all talk about my cousins' academics. Two of my cousins are planning to take Law after finishing their preparatory courses. I'm really proud of those intelligent sisters. They're very sensible. And there'll be more lawyers in the family, so I guess that's a happy thing. Then somewhere in the conversations, someone mentions that I'm ( Read more... )

Really doll, I don't think anyone would cite a life of study as where their passion lies. :)

You're not planning to be a drop-out, are you? Yorkie! Not only will you give your Dad a heart attack but you'll give me one as well. So close, dear. Once you finish college you can put it all behind you for good. I personally can't wait, lol. The next three years are going to be a drag.

But I don't doubt you're going to make it. Sure it may take a while getting there but, as you say, music is your passion. So you are going to get there someday and the Burger will be there to cheer you on every step of the way (okay, muhunong na ko kay char na au). But you get my point! :) *huggles*

They didn't have internet, and therefore had nothing better to do with their time.

Nah, it has something to do with the pursuit of truth. Firsthand.

You can never put passion in anything if you don't enjoy it.^^ Don't worry Jem. There's still time and who knows, opportunity will knock on your door the moment you graduate. Just don't shoo it away. LOL

I'm still undecided but you know me, I think like crazy. I don't know how much paranoia I would be then if I were in your place. Ehe.

Lol, if you were in my place, then you'll know you'd rather be writing songs than making thesis. ;)

first off, nalingaw ko how your thread with patty has become a one word per line thingy..

hehe. I was once told, "you're not in the university to dance." by my Papa.. it stung, but i knew he would never understand that drive and passion i have for dancing.

so i graduate, and now they're all expecting me to work in my chosen field, while i did enjoy it (in college), and it's artsy fartsy me. I am not as driven or as passionate working in the field (now that i have the experience, ahem) as i would be dancing in a studio or taking a photo.

You noticed the thread, too? xD It looks silly! Hahahaha

That sort of statement would also crush me! But yes, they don't quite understand the drive. Haha, I remember my dad asking me what good do I get from being in my choir (because I almost always attend our practices even if it's an outside school group). He'll never understand. And I don't think he's gonna sit long enough to hear everything I'll tell him. Hahaha.

Haaay, us artsy fartsy people... *Apir* At least I have you here to back me up in case someone says I'll be happier in an office. We will throw that person a couple of your old dancing shoes and my broken keyboard, key by key. xD

hahaha bitaw, don't they ever think of it that way, imagine halos wa jud ko absent when it comes to the practices compared to attending my clases/and now work... now if that were work it would be a lot of fun. that makes sense to me. diba?

when people ask me, how's work so far, i've given up explaining "the drive/passion" part, coz they're all like, "well you're earning, just make sure you do your job well and you'll be fine" ... dayum, when do people expect us to live life with zest and have fun? when we're old, living off pension and no teeth to show at our pictures from the trip around the world???

Follow your bliss, I say!

And Tita's right; as long as you can earn your own bread (legally).

But I still think that working as a bellydancer would have made you happy.

The scary thing about being a flight attendant is being a victim of sexual harrasment. So I think bellydancing is a lot safer. LOL
