I have this insane urge to tilt my head and cross my arms and look at Mal like he's an idiot - because, um, yeah, clearly?
This is all his fault, which Inara will remember until they're both old and gray and still snarking at one another even though they can't even hear one another. And after they get the hell out of dodge and are sure everybody's fine, she's ST go off on him in a really great way, I know it - because true love means bitching at one another, you know?
True love means understanding why you bitch at one another.

Truer wprds were never writen! And I haven't even filled in the whole arc they have been having while I have focused on Jayne and River... hmm...
He's such an extremely independent character, not just physically but emotionally (with the exception of Ma Cobb) so it's an extremely tricky thing to do
He is, and it has been quite the trip through the shoals to try and keep that unique "Jayne'ness" true. I am gratified it comes through.
Jayne will hold Zoë until grace wins over nature’s fury.” Nobody pulls off double meanings like River! ♥
She is wonderful that way isn't she! It wasn't until I read that line about the tenth time that I *face-palmed* as I realized the multiplicity of meanings there. ...grace wins over nature's fury... may well be one of my favorite snippets of dialog I have had the fortune to pen. *
